Autocad Civil 3d 2008 Serial Number

I've purchased a 2 year Student License of 3D Studio Max and downloaded the free student edition of Autocad and they both run fine on bootcamp except I have issues with the licenses. As I'm sure most of you know, Autodesk have a robust, almost ridiculous licensing system and quite randomly when I open either of the programs I receive a license error and my programs become trial editions which run out after 7 days. Now this is a problem as I need both softwares for my work and because I'm paying for one of them and not being able to use it. I'd like to know if anyone else is having these issues as well and any possible fixes. The patch suggested by Autodesk support didn't work and I don't think they're too familiar with how their software works on Bootcamp. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance. '* Whether you're running it through Boot Camp makes no difference, as running windows on a Mac through Boot Camp is no different than running Windows on any other PC, because a Mac is a PC. The fact that it's made by Apple makes no difference either. This is not an issue with your Mac and/or Boot Camp. It is an issue with Windows and your Autodesk software, and you need to work with them to get it straightened out. Jan 27, 2008 3:26 PM. Same issue here.

No solution unfortunately. Autodesk categorically refused to help the moment I mentioned Bootcamp. I was floored by the arrogance of the tech I spoke to, the gist of which was how dare I run their product on Bootcamp, now go away you little standalone person. I managed to get an activation over the phone today, good till I log off. What kills me is that in effect this is just a registration issue, the app works brilliantly in Bootcamp. Why they can't deal with this administratively is beyond me. So far they've only demonstrated arrogance, but I hear that's Autodesk in a nutshell.

We made the jump to Mac about a year ago and it has been absolutely seamless and problem free, nothing, nada. After 10 years of **** with Windows PC's I'm starting to twitch again.. So has anyone got any ideas about this?? Feb 11, 2008 2:50 PM. Here's a copy of an email I sent them when I recieved an email saying I'd registered that serial number too many times: 'The reason I have requested so many activation codes is that frequently when I open up 3D Studio Max, I receive a license submission error and I am told to resubmit a request for a new license. The license is meant to be a 2 year student license yet I have only been using it since October/November and already I have been forced to resubmit the request code so many times that I am now unable to activate the software I have purchased and require for my work.

The same thing goes for the Autocad Civil 3D 2008 student download I use. I have received no solution to this problem when I have asked Autodesk support, except for a single link to a patch for errors to do with certain hard drive types. This patch made no difference and I am still dealing with the difficulty of having what is supposed to be a full working piece of software reduced to a 7 day trial, which when it expires, means I have no software with which to complete my work. I'm sure you can understand how this impacts my academic performance, and me as a paying customer. I hope you can provide me with a lasting solution so I can enjoy the software and be able to produce the work I need to. Here is some information on the system I am using: Apple Macbook Pro, 15inch 2.33ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, running Windows XP 32 bit on Bootcamp with Mac OS Leopard.

One external hard drive usually plugged in via firewire, partitioned into 2 NTFS Drives. USB mouse plugged in. I look forward to your reply as soon as is possible as the trial software will come to an end quite soon and I will be in a difficult position without the software. I believe 3D Max really is an excellent piece of software and am disappointed my experience has been ruined by this issue.

I should also add that my Autocad did somehow re-activate itself but I think when I next open it the error will happen again.' The response I got? Just the standard email with a new activation code. No acknowledgement of anything I said whatsoever. It's a shambles. Kotha Bangaram Serial Actress Names on this page. Feb 11, 2008 3:38 PM.

On the Autodesk forum. You had to delete a.dat file but only one guy posted back to say it had worked.

Apparently (from another forum) it's actually something to do with Bootcamp. If you delete Mac OS off completely and just use Windoze you've got no problems, it's going backwards and forwards that's the problem.

Autodesk say Apple won't even give them a machine to try things on as all the other vendors do, and Autodesk think it's because Apple don't want competition for their software (which is a bit rich coming from Autodesk who been anti-mac for years). It is Bootcamp that breaks the license though. It's really stupid because if Autodesk fix the issue and support Bootcamp they instantly sell a lot more software. Maybe they think if they do that Apple will issue another updater and the license would break again. I for one just wish they all grow up and start putting the customer first. It's the way to sell stuff by and large and we are all paying huge sums of money for Macs and for Autodesk software so it would be nice to think either of them cared about helping us make it work.

Mar 2, 2008 12:28 PM. Further to my post of Feb 28. After following the advice of the document the serial number stuck so it helped my situation somewhat. But the license continued to break.

Curiously the license on my MP Pro has never been an issue, only on my desktop. Both are running bootcamp (Vista). I compared the settings on both and found differences, so I set the desktop setting to match the MB. So far the license has stayed intact for the past week, a record so far.

Here are the settings that differed and the actions that seem to have helped: Defender - Tools - Options - Realtime Protection Options - Application Registration (Turned it on) User Accounts - Turn on User Account Control (Turned it off) Firewall - Exceptions: Core Networking, File Printer Sharing, Network Discovery. (Allow) I'm not sure whether any or all of these setting have any relevance, but they seem to have worked. Maybe someone more familiar with Vista can fill us in. If you find this works for you let us know. Cheers Apr 3, 2008 3:38 PM. Apple Footer This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only.
