Musica Profana is a folk/celtic rock (originally Folk Metal) band from Ponte de Lima, Portugal. The project was created in 2008 and the band formed in 2009. The original sound of the band was heavy folk metal, mixing Portuguese traditional music, celtic melodies and heavy guitar riffs but after an acoustic show the band decided to maintain more of the acoustic sound, never forgetting the rock influences. This new sound of Musica Profana brought more people to the shows and the number of fans increased significantly, therefore the decision of the release of the album “Abakir”, much asked by its fallowers.
