James Henderson President and Chief Operating Officer James Henderson has more than 10 years of experience leading global teams in the Security, IT and Technology industries. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Henderson is responsible for leading Avigilon's global operations while creating efficiencies across the business.

Henderson has a proven track record of identifying new markets, developing and executing successful business strategies, and driving revenue growth. Prior to Avigilon, Mr. Henderson held several key roles for various technology companies, including overseeing both domestic and international business strategies and running global departments. Joel Schuster Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President, and Corporate Secretary Joel Schuster has more than 13 years of experience in the legal sector. Schuster has also practiced law at the boutique securities firm DuMoulin Black LLP, the national firm Davis LLP, and at a leading technology law firm in Boston. Mahesh Saptharishi Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President Dr. Mahesh Saptharishi has more than 17 years of experience developing intelligent video analytics technology as well as software and camera hardware specifically for the security industry.

As Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Saptharishi is responsible for driving innovation in Avigilon’s product and intellectual property portfolios, identifying strategic technology capabilities, and exploring new business opportunities. Before becoming CTO, Dr. Saptharishi served as Senior Vice President, Analytics and Data Science at Avigilon and has been with the company since its acquisition of VideoIQ Inc. In January 2014. Prior to joining Avigilon, Dr. Saptharishi was President, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of VideoIQ, Inc.

Saptharishi also co-founded and led the core analytics team at Broad Reach Technologies, Inc., where he was Vice President of Research & Development. A pioneer in the surveillance industry, Dr. Saptharishi received his Doctorate in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was involved in research on autonomously navigating vehicles at the Robotics Institute and the Institute for Complex Engineering Systems. He has also authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications, articles and patents.

Ric Leong Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President Ric Leong has more than 14 years of experience in the finance and accounting sector. As Chief Financial Officer, he heads the Finance department and oversees the company’s finance and accounting operations on a global basis, including public reporting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and investor relations. Prior to joining Avigilon in 2014, Mr. Leong served in several senior financial leadership positions, including Corporate Controller and Director of Business Planning at two large U.S.-listed public companies. Leong is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and is a Director and Treasurer for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, British Columbia & Yukon Branch.

Fred Withers Director Mr. Withers has over 30 years of experience with Ernst & Young LLP, in Vancouver, where he was partner and, most recently, chief development officer for Canada.

Prior to his retirement on June 30, 2014, he had significant involvement in the firm’s governance and operations as a member of the executive committee and led numerous strategic acquisitions throughout Canada. Withers was also an assurance partner and since 1987, he managed a portfolio of assurance clients which included public and private companies, based both in Canada and the United States. As a senior advisory partner with Ernst & Young, he advised a number of clients in the energy, real estate, technology, transportation, healthcare and wholesale/distribution industries and also led a number of IPOs. Dedicated to community involvement, Mr. Withers is currently chair of the Vancouver Symphony Society, director of the Vancouver Symphony Endowment Fund Foundation and vice-chair of the Sauder School of Business Faculty Advisory Board.

Among other volunteer roles, he was previously director and vice-chair of the Vancouver Board of Trade, trustee and chair of the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, director and chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver and director and treasurer of the New Ventures BC Society. Mike McKnight Director Mr. McKnight has over 30 years of international investment experience and is a former Senior Vice President and Investment Advisor for Raymond James Inc.
